Startup operator to investor / advisor

Hello! I'm Bobby Lo. I was the founder of Vurb, the TechCrunch Disrupt-winning, consumer search and messaging app that became the largest acquisition by Snapchat at the time.

I also co-founded two other startups and made use of my three MIT degrees while working as a management consultant at BCG

Currently I actively angel invest (40+ companies) and advise startup founders on building great product experiences.

Working with me

Being the first call. Startups are hard, and I’ve been a single founder from start to exit. I’m available to be that first call - whether it be helping to close that important candidate to navigating hairy situations.

I invest independently. I collaborate with top investors but invest with my own capital - no syndicates or scout funds that could put me in conflict with founders. I can spend more time with founders instead of deal hunting.

Obsess over product. I look for great teams with product vision and an unfair advantage across most industries - including consumer, enterprise, data/AI, and health (no web3).

Planning the future. Being a founder involves great sacrifice. I can strategize company fundraises, but I can also help founders think through their own financial planning. Need a vacation? As a hobby I help founders find great deals on travel (use those points and miles!) so they can recharge.

Third-wave, fresh, bean-to-cup coffee machine. Invested at pre-seed and iterated product strategy before making introductions to Sequoia, who led the seed and Maveron, who led the A.

Personalized healthcare engagement. Joined as advisor post-seed and facilitated funding relationships with the Series A and B leads. Also provided feedback for the awesome rebrand.
